Plymouth Citybus timetable changes December 2016

Here is the Plymouth Citybus timetable changes for December 2016

Plymouth Changes

5/5A – Please see Cornwall changes

8/9 – The service will see an enhanced Bank Holiday service and the 18:35 service 9 will receive extra running time to improve reliability.

25 – Will see the introduction of a new Sunday and Bank Holiday service.

27/28 – Sunday will see the introduction of an hourly 27 & 28 replacing the current 27B & 28B timetables with late evening journeys withdrawn.

32 – Service will now be serviced by 70/71 (please see Cornwall changes) Will now depart from Stand A3.

33 – Revised Sunday and Bank Holiday Timetable.

40/41 – Due to congestion, morning peak journeys will receive greater running time to improve reliability. Enhanced Bank Holiday service introduced.

44 - Due to congestion, morning peak journeys will receive greater running time to improve reliability. Enhanced Bank Holiday service introduced.

50/50A/51 – To illuminate confusion of service direction, the services will be renumbered.

Clockwise journeys will be service 50 to Derriford and service 50A to Holly Park. All anti clockwise journeys from both Derriford and Holly Park will be service 51.

61/62 – Revised Sunday timetable.

Cornwall Changes

5/5A – To improve reliability service 5A will now run Plymstock, City Centre and onto Saltash, with service 5 now running Plymstock to Royal Parade only. The 5/5A will operate via Stanborough Road now the road works in the area have been completed.

Saltash will see the introduction of a new hourly Sunday service.

Services will now depart from stand A7, instead of stand A1.

11/11A – Due to the ongoing road works in Bodmin, causing delays to the service, we have had to invest more resource, adding 15 minutes to the running time to improve reliability.

12/12B – To improve reliability we have invested resource, meaning an additional 15 minutes have been added to the overall running time of the service.

70/70A/70B/71 – Services to be re routed via Western Approach, Railway Station, Millbridge and Stoke instead of Union Street, replacing the current service 32.

This will improve reliability in Stoke following service monitoring

The changes will mean that from the railway station the above services will serve Torpoint.

72 - To improve reliability we have invested resource, meaning an additional 15 minutes have been added to the overall running time of the service. The service will also be re routed to serve Hannafore & Pelynt.

73/74 – Timetable amendments to both services will now enable passengers who catch the bus in Callington and carry on to Looe and Polperro via Liskeard.

Service will link Pelynt and Polperro, with a Sunday service to Camping Caradon.

The morning 73A will be re routed to serve St Keyne, Duloe, Sandplace, Morval and Widegates.

I will go into more detail over the coming weeks.

Here is some news from Stagecoach South West

Falcon will be running through the night as normal on 29-30 October but check below to see if the timing of your journey is affected by the change from BST (British Summer Time) to GMT (Greenwich Mean Time).
From Bristol 30 October
0100 BST will depart at 0100 BST as normal
0230 will depart at 0130 GMT (i.e. what would have been 0230 BST)
0500 will depart at 0400 GMT (i.e. what would have been 0500 BST)
0600 will depart at 0600 GMT with all times at GMT from there on
From Plymouth 29-30 October
2330 will depart at 2330 BST as normal
0130 will depart at 0130 GMT (i.e. what would have been 0230 BST )
0330 will depart at 0330 GMT as normal with all times at GMT from there on

I can confirm earlier today that the 12 MAN Ecocitys have arrived from Anglian Bus after staying the night in Reading (and getting refueled there).

Tommorow, the 12 MAN EcoCitys from Anglian Bus will start to arrive at Milehouse. From what I've seen they will go via Reading. get refueled there and then make the journey to Plymouth. (Info above paraphrased from Plymothian Transit).

Changes to Plymouth fares from 30 October 201617 Oct 2016 to 05 Nov 2016

From 30 October we are making some revisions to a small number of our fares:
  • We are withdrawing the Ivybridge 2-for-1 'duo' ticket currently available on Gold and X38
  • We are withdrawing the £10 1 week Plymouth Megarider currently available on Gold and X38, the standard £12 fare will apply instead
  • Child fares for 16-18 year olds will only be available in the Plymouth zone and will no longer be available in the Plymouth Plus and Dartmouth zones

Changes to Smartcard issue

18 Oct 2016 to 05 Nov 2016

From 30 October 2016 4 week Megariders issued on Smartcard will only be available to buy online at www.stagecoachbus.com.
Customers will still be able to buy 1 week Megariders issued on Smartcard on the bus.

Bus News Around Plymouth 027

Good evening everyone

Although no new bus news, one item I would like to mention again on the blog is Stagecoach South West's arrangements for Goosey Fair tomorrow

Stagecoach services will not serve Tavistock Bus Station after 1500 on Tuesday 11th October 2016, as the Tavistock Goose fair will be taking place.
Services will resume from the Bus Station at 0800 on the 13th October.
All services will start and finish at the Bus Stops opposite the Primary School on the A386 south of Drake’s Statue.

Also I'd like to mention a timetable change for National Express that is happening next week

PCTPG news update September 2016

Good evening everyone

Here is the PCTPG update for September 2016

September saw Plymouth's new Coach Station open, and to mark the event, the Plymouth City Transport Preservation Group were asked to have a presence and mark the event with a departure from Bretonside Bus & Coach Station and arrival at Mayflower Coach Station using preserved AEC Harrington, 100 VRL, with our thanks to member Roger Thomas for bringing his superb vehicle for all to enjoy. We also attended Crosville Bus Rally and Running Day using our Sales Bus 52; an enjoyable day was had by all who attended. And last but by no means least, PCTPG are this month pleased to announce another new arrival, fresh out of service with its most recent operator Rail Riverlink group member Steve has secured convertible open top Bristol VR UWV614S which will be arriving at our Colebrook Base shortly. UWV614S will make appearances across the region in the 2017 rally season.

Stagecoach news updates

Good evening everyone

Here is some info regarding Stagecoach South West services affected by the Plymouth 10K

On Sunday 9th October there are various road closures from 0600-1200 for the Plymouth 10K race.   
Service 2/2A from Mouth Batten to City Centre: will operate a normal route as far as Cattedown Roundabout then via Tothill into Beaumont Road and Ebrington Street to serve stop C1 on Charles Street. Service will then operate via Mayflower Street onto Western Approach and back up the other side to resume normal line of route.

Service 48 will operate as above to Charles Street, then resume a normal line of route.

Falcon inbound from Exeter will operate via the A38 to Manadon Roundabout and via the A386 to the Coach Station. Astor Fields and Laira Bridge inbound will not be served.

The Gold service will not be able to access the City via the Embankment. Service will divert via the A38 to the Manadon Roundabout and exit. Service will divert via the A386, then onto Alma Rd to Western Approach and into Union St. Service will resume a normal route at the western end of Royal Parade to stand at the usual stop.
