Buses Around Plymouth Predictions 2017 Recap

Good evening everyone

Here is what I predicted and what really happened in 2017

Plymouth Citybus
- New double deckers (Wright Streetdecks, ADL Enviro 400MMC?)
They got ADL Enviro 400H Cities - 15 for the 21/21A which became the SPARK and 1 spare.
- Withdrawal of the remaining ex-London double deckers and possibly some of the Brighton ones because of these new double deckers
Some more of them have gone but the Brighton ones are still around- A futher batch of second hand single deckers to replace some of the Dennis Darts and for use on a new or existing coloured 'Flash' route
Not really - The remaining buses in the liveries dating from when Plymouth City Council owned Citybus and the ones in the 2011 livery will be repainted into swoops
Yes - but 7 is still on the roads in the Stenning livery
Stagecoach South West
- There will be a new 'Gold' route at some stage this year
Sort of - X38 rebranding- A few second hand buses will enter the fleet
A number of Tridents and Enviros transferred down this year- The 2/2A will have a route alteration at some stage this year
Yes there was.
Target Travel
- More newer buses to enter the fleet (such as another mini or full length ADL Enviro 200, an Optare Solo (original, maybe SR).
Yep, mainly Optare Solos (none of which are SRs)- At least one new route (possibly taking over a route from another company)
The 13 from Jacketts Coaches

Other operators
- Jacketts Coaches: reduced presence in Plymouth
They are out of business so yes
- Tally Ho: no change in Plymouth
Correct
- Countrybus: no change in Plymouth
Correct

Transportation scene around Plymouth
- More information on the refurbishment of the main station
Not really

Yep, like the Bus Users event in July 2017. Hoping to try and make it for the PCTPG Running Day next year (wasn't able to make it this year)

Buses around Plymouth - the Christmas Day post of 2017

Merry Christmas everyone

Welcome to the Christmas Day post of 2017

A lot has happened in nearly 2 years of the blog, and a lot since the last Christmas day post in 2016.

We have seen a number of interesting things go on in Plymouth this year such as the following

- One operator that was operating at the start of the year but is no longer doing so is Jacketts Coaches. Their routes are now taken over by Plymouth Citybus as well as Target Travel.

- Target Travel continues to acquire second hand buses such as a number of Optare Solos which have joined the fleet this year.

- Stagecoach South West have been transferring buses from their Devon operations including on the 36 which got transferred to them from Plymouth Citybus.

- Plymouth Citybus have also been getting ADL Enviro 400H Cities for the 21 and 21A (The SPARK) and one spare one.

- There is also a MAN Ecocity that entered service in November with them (713)

- The old livery is going and buses are either getting repainted or are being withdrawn

Also with other organisations such as the PCTPG, the main headline was Jason Beverly who become appointed as the Chairperson and also they are moving to Milehouse. I also hope to get more involved with them in 2018.

Other highlights included a tour around Milehouse which I really enjoyed. Many thanks to all involved for making this possible.

And also it is a pleasure to develop the blog and the main development is the Buses around Plymouth Livestreams and hope to develop this more in 2018.

Whilst I have been covering news in Plymouth, with Go Cornwall Bus they have ADL Enviro 400s transferred from Red Flash.

Below are photos of 517 (WG63 HHV), which has been looked after by Derrick Cuff, being used on the 189 as part of the Callywith College runs.
