Plymouth is going to get a guided busway

Good evening everyone

You're probably wondering what a guided busway is? These are special tracks which buses can run on without any other traffic. (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Guided_bus)

So, where is it going to be?
 Well, for those that are interested, the busway is going to installed next to the Embankment and Plymouth Citybus routes 20 (partial), 20A (partial), 21, 21A, 50, 50A and 51 and Stagecoach South West routes 200, X38 and Gold alongside Target Travel routes 19 and 59 will take advantage of the busway and buses will be retrofitted with wheels which are capable of using the busways.

All buses which will use at least part of this route regardless of operator will be repainted into the new Plymouth Guided Busway livery which will be unveiled soon.

The plan is that if this guided busway is successful, there are plans to build further guided busways linking the City Centre and St Budeaux although the routes details are not confirmed yet, another linking the City Centre and Derriford (and possibly beyond) although whether it will go through Mutley Plain or through Milehouse is yet to be decided, and there could even be a route linking the City Centre to Plymstock although details of that are yet to be decided.

Route 120 will operate a Saturday service.

Plymouth Citybus Cornwall service updates 2nd March 2017

Roadworks - Fore Street, Callington

From Tuesday 7^th until Friday 10^th March, Fore Street in Callington will have occasional road closures for preparation work for resurfacing.

We have been advised that buses should be able to serve New Road as normal, but due to the nature of the work there may be times access will be restricted and buses may have to be turned around by the contractors marshals. If the bus cannot enter New Road for any reason then they will pick up and set down on the A388 outside or opposite the old police station.

On Monday 13^th and Tuesday 14^th New Road will be closed overnight from 18:30 until 06:00 to allow the resurfacing work to  take place.
The buses during the closure will pick up and set down on the A388 outside or opposite the old police station.

This will likely affect the following services:

Service 12 to Launceston at 18:55, 19:48, 23:48 & 05:50
Service 12 to Stoke Climsland at 21:48
Service 12 to Plymouth at 18:50, 19:50, 22:50 & 22:10
Service 74 to Liskeard at 18:32

These works are weather dependant, so the date of these works are subject to change or cancellation by the contractors without prior notice.
