Some news from Plymouth Citybus

 Good evening everyone

Here is some news from Plymouth Citybus

Our new timetables come into effect from Sunday 5th September. The increased reliability of services will make travelling by bus even better.

The majority of changes are to services through routes prone to high congestion. The revised timetables take these into account, so your bus is more likely to arrive at the time it should.

James Church, Commercial and Customer Manager of Plymouth Citybus said: “We’re constantly looking at our timetables and adapting them to our passengers’ needs. Now Covid restrictions are reduced, it’s great seeing more people coming back onto the buses and to be able to provide even more choice for our passengers.”

To cope with the increasing demand for buses, some routes through Efford, Eggbuckland, Crownhill and Woolwell now have extra journeys.

Plymouth Citybus has also been working with the NHS’s Lighthouse Laboratory, extending routes and adding extra journeys to accommodate staff needing to travel from the new Estover site to Derriford Hospital.

Some of the routes crossing the Tamar have also been updated, with extra journeys for service 12 from Plymouth to Bude, and the 172 taking the place of the 72 and including Crafthole.

Full details of the changes are below, and you can also check individual services on each service page and via the Plymouth Citybus app. Timetables will be available in paper format from late August.

Some information regarding the 73

 Hello everyone

Here is some information from Transport for Cornwall/Go Cornwall Bus (https://www.gocornwallbus.co.uk/essential-changes-service-73)

The timetable for Service 73 Liskeard-Polperro is being updated from Monday 9th August in order to run a more reliable service following the closure of Sandplace Road in Looe.

The road has been closed due to a dangerous wall, and the diversion now in place is adding an extra 20 minutes onto the journey for Service 73. This obviously has a knock-on effect for all other users of the service.

As this is going to be a long-term disruption, we’ve decided to amend the timetable so you know what buses to expect and when.

To take the diversion into account we have had to reduce the service in places, although we’ve done our best to maintain the service at peak times. The 73 will now stop at Pelynt instead of Polperro, but anyone wanting to continue on can buy a transferable ticket and complete their journey on Service 72.

The work needed to end the road closure is expected to be completed towards the end of October, but no dates have been confirmed yet. We will keep you updated as to any changes and when we’ll be able to reinstate the 73 in full.

You can find details of the timetable from Monday 9th August onwards here: 73Timetable.pdf
