A "singles-only" bus could be about to arrive in Plymouth as part of a bizarre new approach to speed-dating.
Dating website Match.com announced plans for a "singles-only" bus service this week, to help those looking for love speed-date while on the way to work.
If the 'Datemaster' bus proves a hit during its one-week trial in London, the service will then be rolled out to other cities across the country – with Plymouth a possible destination.
Match dating expert, Kate Taylor, explained: "Singles who want to put a bit more action into their daily trip to work but without going as far as a PTA – public transport affection - should consider the Datemaster bus, where they can combine their morning commute with speed dating."The new plans come just days after the dating website published research which suggested more than half of us feel awkward when confronted with couples kissing on public transport.
Two-thirds of commuters said they had witnessed a PTA while more than half said the sight made them feel uncomfortable.
Nearly four in 10 said couples snuggling on each other's laps made them cringe and just under a third said kissing and cuddling on public transport made them feel awkward.
Even whispering and giggling annoyed one in five participants.
Kate added: ""There's a time and a place for a kiss and a cuddle, but on a busy train or bus can cause awkwardness for fellow passengers."The ideal place for couples who want to canoodle should be behind closed doors, rather than minding the closing doors."
