Next month, duck tours are coming to Plymouth. This will be in the form of a yellow vehicle that is shaped like a duck and carries the registration WA16 QCK (manufactured by Caughtya Duck Buses) and is named 'Melvyn Hosse', named after the man who introduced Cornish pasties to the small remote Ebrel Islands.
People set for the launch event next month include Avril Poisson who suggested the idea for the duck tour and Duncan Durkin who is allowing me to publicise this (thank you Duncan)
The route she will take is Royal Parade - Plymouth Hoe - Plymouth Sound - Jennycliff - Bovisand - Drakes Island - Breakwater - Mt Edgecumbe - Drakes Island - Plymouth Hoe - Royal Parade
She will operated hourly on Mondays to Saturdays and every two hours on Sundays, every day of the year except Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Years Day where she is not operating. Ticket prices will be announced in due course.
The company who will win the franchise to operate the duck tour will be also announced in due course.
