On this blog, I intend to talk about aspects regarding buses around Plymouth and the surrounding areas.
In this blog post, I will outline Stagecoach's presence in Plymouth since they took over First's operations back in September 2015.
Initially, a number of buses were brought in from other operators around the country. These include some Dennis Darts, some Optare Solos, some ADL Enviro 200s and some ALX400 Dennis Tridents. Initially, we received S, T and X reg Tridents and a 53 reg Trident. Also, some buses from First Devon & Cornwall are being leased out to Stagecoach (3 Enviro 400s and 5 Dennis Tridents)
Later on, we received more Tridents from Devon operations, some of which were as a result of the Stagecoach Gold route 57 getting new buses replacing 10 reg ones, then the 10 reg ones got cascaded elsewhere in Devon, and we received a couple of Tridents from there. We also received some 04 reg buses brand new to Devon that year.
Also, this month, we are due to receive 21 ADL Enviro 400MMC buses and 5 ADL Enviro 200MMC buses which are brand new. These buses are intended to replace the leased buses from First Devon & Cornwall.
Also, yesterday I saw a MCV Evolution in Plymouth. I believe it had registration VV08 BLU, with a fleet number of 33874. If anyone could explain it's presence here, please let me know.
This bus was new to Bluebird, Manchester in 2008. The company and it's buses then got acquired to Stagecoach and some of the buses have since been cascaded down to Devon.
Above; An MCV Evolution in Plymouth, which I believe is fleet number 33874 and registration VV08 BLU.
